Thursday Life Moments "Plant Mayhem"

This morning I woke up to well my Ox's snuggle uhhuumm....my mind going its to early I have to pee ... please if you have one ounce of love in you for me let me be...did you not hear that most obnoxious black car exiting its garage at 4 am with the most ear wrenching screech in all the world last night...apparently I thought this car was fixed ..I was running last week and for two days straight the whole car every part of the car was taken apart and laid out on the garage floor it was yes just my assumption that this beast of a car was being fixed and I would not have to here the perfect alarm clock for Satan himself at 4 am every morning anymore... well no the owner of this car is a feign of a mechanic ...the death screech at 4am waking me up out of a blissful sleep is verification of that... me wanting to grab a baseball bat at 4 am this morning to bust out the cars headlights has nothing to do with owner he might be the sweetest man ever but... if he is not mechanically inclined it really is not unmanly to take your dog gone car in to a certified mechanic and fix it REALLY !!!  .... So the beast,my dear Ox, and then my sweet dog.. My Ox is not telepathic so after he was happy I got up ..yelled down the hallway for my son to take out the dog .. started cleaning out the coffee pot went pee..walked back out of the bathroom, grabbed the dog well giving the evil eye to my son telling him "he isn't fooling me I know darn well you heard me and that your not sleeping!!!" ....came back in grabbed the coffee pot, then looked up,thought my blinds aren't open yet, left the pot opened my blinds and gasped totally slipped my mind that yes my kids called me last night and said your plants are everywhere did not even think about it till I saw this

It was definitely plant mayhem ..I assigned myself cleaning duty...when I came back inI got the what's for breakfast from the kids so all of this has happened before my first cup of coffee I looked at my adorable children and said you better grab some cereal because I'm not cooking anything till I've had my first POT OF COFFEE

Chinese Chicken ...Monday Recipe

So tonight I was going to make chicken stir fry all the kids opposed that idea so I searched till I found this http://www.opensourcefood.com/people/captbunzo/recipes/flawless-sesame-chicken-american-restaurant-style  I will tell you now this was amazing My Ox even said,"You made this ?" With a surprised look on his face ...Stitch said,"It was the best food I've ever made!!," I won't go that far but it was the best Chinese food I've ever made...I didn't have sesame oil so I can't call it sesame chicken I did put sesame seeds in the slurry though also used red wine vinegar instead of cooking wine... I always wing it when it comes to recipes but this one turned out fantastic

Life Moments "Motherhood"

Its one of those what am I doing wrong days?
I am not going to make it till they're 18!!!!
I have heard you are the meanest cruelest mom ever.. way to many times to count today not to mention ..your the worst mom in the world.. I have had my sunburn scratched at just to hurt me and have had ..where is my bag I'm leaving this house.. mentioned quite a few times ..tears are flowing from my eyes and I am asking myself again What am I doing wrong? Do other moms feel this way ever????
When people talk about having a child and say I'm going to dress them in this and take them here with me and do everything my parents didn't do you know the whole Sunshine and Yellow Daisy Stuff (they are completely living in a fairytale)  I want to SCREAM yes SCREAM its the most heart wrenching experience you will ever partake on in life and the hardest job any woman will ever have to do...also the most rewarding but I'm not feeling that RIGHT NOW

Yes your heart on the outside of your body ... not protected ..arrows can shoot through it more easily ...and do often

Time well spent

Mother's Quote

This is so true

"Motherhood brings as much joy as ever, but it still brings boredom, exhaustion, and sorrow, too. Nothing else ever will make you as happy or as sad, as proud or as tired, for nothing is quite as hard as helping a person develop his own individuality - especially while you struggle to keep your own." - Marguerite Kelly and Ella Parsons

I find this quote interesting to keep my own individuality is to find myself to take time for myself every time I run or craft or just spend time with friends there is the inevitable guilt that crushes my chest and makes me feel like I cant breath like I'm doing something evil... of course my children have the tendency to make me feel guilty and comment on how I am a bad mom because I want to go running for 20 minutes its only 20 minutes but I get the you just don't want to be around us mom you don't like us ...I love my children but to love them I need just a few really just a few me times when I say I'm taking a shower please don't come in and bother me please even if the whole world is going to explode just let it I will leave this world happy just let me shower for few minutes without a.. mom he did this.. mom can I have that.. REALLY just a  minute shower but no I get the.. Your just a mean mom.. I don't think I'm asking to much but apparently in their eyes I am.. I am a horrible mom.. and yes I can rant all day and have a pity party and sulk on the couch and eat a whole bowl of ice cream... but no I'm not going to I'm going to hold my head up high and leave for a run and pray I'm not as bad as mom as my children think I am

Monday Recipes " Cheese Blintz"

 Cheese Blintz's
This is my first time making these at home I've had them at restaurants before and fell in love with them so I thought I'd give it a try they where exactly what I wanted..I did not have any cream cheese so I used all cottage cheese I will make sure I have cream cheese next time

Crepes

Filling

Garnishes

  • strawberry jam or preserves
  • powdered sugar

    1. Use an electric mixer to blend together all the crêpe ingredients (except the butter for the pan) in a large bowl. Blend just until smooth. The batter will be very thin.
    2. Combine the filling ingredients in a medium bowl and mix by hand. Keep the filling nearby.
    3. Preheat a 10-inch frying pan over medium heat. (This size pan tapers to about 8 inches at the bottom.) When the pan is hot, add about ½ teaspoon butter.
    4. When the butter has melted, pour 1/3 cup batter into the pan. Swirl the batter so that it entirely coats the bottom of the pan. Cook for 1½ to 2 minutes or until golden brown on one side.
    5. Use a spatula to lift an edge of the crêpe. Grab it with your finger, slip the spatula underneath, and quickly flip it over. Cook for another 1½ minutes or until a bit lighter shade of brown than the first side, and then slide it out of the pan. Repeat with the rest of the batter and stack the finished crepes on top of each other to keep them warm.
    6. Heat the cheese filling in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes or until hot. When ready to fill the crêpes, place each crepe, dark side down, on a plate. Pour 2 to 3 Tablespoons of cheese filling across the center of the crêpe. Fold the sides in and turn the entire blintz over (to hide the seam) onto a serving plate.
    7. serve 2 to 3 blintzes on each plate with one dollop of sour cream and two of strawberry preserves. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

    Ocean-Breath

    The Sea is Calling ME!!!

    MY OCEAN BLUE

This blanket covers a king size bed and fits a queen beautifully ..Ocean Blue brings thoughts of expansive blue waters and white powdery caps on the tops of waves and sand between my toes with long walks at the beach ..My Ox has falling in love with this blanket too.. that's what makes it even more special to see him curled up in it on the couch brings two of my favorite things together

Side Note : I REALLY WISH THE LIGHTING WAS BETTER THE COLORS LOOK SO WASHED OUT

    Tuesday Thinkers "Poem Nobility"

Alice Cary (April 26, 1820 – February 12, 1871) was an American poet, and the sister of fellow poet Phoebe Cary (1824–1871).

    Nobility
True worth is in being, not seeming,—
In doing, each day that goes by,
    Some little good—not in dreaming
Of great things to do by and by.

For whatever men say in their blindness,
And spite of the fancies of youth,

There's nothing so kingly as kindness,
And nothing so royal as truth.
We get back our mete as we measure—
We cannot do wrong and feel right,
Nor can we give pain and gain pleasure,
    For justice avenges each slight.
The air for the wing of the sparrow,
The bush for the robin and wren,
But always the path that is narrow
And straight, for the children of men.

'Tis not in the pages of story
The heart of its ills to beguile,
Though he who makes courtship to glory
Gives all that he hath for her smile.
For when from her heights he has won her,
Alas! it is only to prove
That nothing's so sacred as honor,
And nothing so loyal as love!

We cannot make bargains for blisses,
    Nor catch them like fishes in nets;
And sometimes the thing our life misses
Helps more than the thing which it gets.
For good lieth not in pursuing,
Nor gaining of great nor of small,
But just in the doing, and doing
As we would be done by, is all.

Through envy, through malice, through hating,
Against the world, ,early and late.
No jot of our courage abating
Our part is to work and to wait
And slight is the sting of his trouble
Whose winnings are less than his worth.
For he who is honest is noble
    Whatever his fortunes or birth.

    Alice Cary

    Monday Recipe "Chipotle Chicken Salad"

    Chipotle Chicken Salad

This salad tops the charts as one of my all time favorite salads I first had it at a local restaurant and told myself I have to figure out how to make this at home when I found this recipe on Nutmeg Notebook I became quite pleased now the salad at the restaurant had pickled onions which is on my to do list and really is a must have ingredient in this salad but I didn't make any the other night just tried to get the salad down pat it turned out great but still wanted the pickled onion http://nutmegnotebook.com/2011/06/chipotle-chicken-taco-salad-2/

    Chipotle Chicken Taco Salad

    Hump Day Hookerry "Take 2"

Wednesday's are always a little chaotic for me ... I had also set up a girly time yesterday to go thrift store shopping so it was a topsy-turvy day...  but enough about me lets get to the good stuff that darn yarn

I started a cushion cover for the dog's pillow the black and taupe color yarns are the colors in our area rug the greens and blues are accent colors...its just a simple project working in  rounds I hope to have it done soon ...and yes even though I started this project with the full intent of using left over yarn I ran out of taupe so had to run out and get more yarn surprise surprise

I am on to the final square for the cable blanket four squares left (yes your hearing exhales)
    NOTE TO SELF
Just because all four of the other cable square patterns started with a chain of 33 and 31 hdc does not mean the fifth square automatically will be a ch 33, 31hdc pattern so next time instead of doing the first three rows four times and throwing my hands up in the air saying "I'm done I will never figure this out" sit down and read from the beginning of the pattern than start your work this square starts with ch 34 and 32 hdc I know its very close but that one stitch makes a world of difference when your crocheting cables
so this is a pic of just one of my boo boos
